Big Bear Getaway General Policies

REQUIREMENTS: You MUST be over 21 years of age (unless a higher age is noted for a specifc property) to rent from Big Bear Getaway.  

CHECKING-IN: You will check in at Big Bear Getaway, 816 W. Big Bear Blvd. Big Bear City, CA 92314 to pick up your keys and complete your paperwork. Directions from our office to your getaway will be provided at that time.  (All details of the check-in process and our policies are provided via email confirmation when you make your reservation).

Check In time is 3:00 P.M. and Check Out is 11:00 A.M – unless your stay is during our holiday period 12/20/13 through 1/2/14, then your Check In is at 4:00 P.M. and Check Out is 10:00 A.M.

(Early check-ins/Late check-outs for 1:00pm can be requested by you not earlier than a day in advance of your arrival/departure by contacting our office and are confirmed at our discretion – we will not be able to accommodate late check-out requests made the same day as your departure due to scheduling.)

HOURS: We are open 7 days a week.  Our normal office hours are:

     EVERYDAY (Saturday thru Thursday)   9:00AM until 7:00PM and FRIDAYS 9:00AM until 9:00PM.

We reserve the right to change office hours without notice. You may check in after our office hours at All Protection Alarm Company. There will be an additional fee of $15 for check in after our normal office hours.

PAYMENT: We accept Mastercard and Visa and must have a valid credit card on file regardless of payment method.*

We require a down payment equal to 50% of the nightly rate to confirm a reservation.  The balance is charged to the credit card on file 15 days prior to arrival (45 days for Christmas & New Years and 30 days for all other holidays). Bookings made within 15 days of arrival or within 45 days of Christmas and New Years or 30 days for all other holidays will require full payment at time of booking.

Cancellation (or Date Changes) made later than 15 days (45 days for Christmas Holidays and New Years Holidays - 30 days for all other holidays) prior to arrival date will result in a loss of all payments made or due to be made less only the cleaning fee and any rent received if we are able to re-rent the property. Inclement weather does NOT void this cancellation policy.
Cancellation (or Date changes) made earlier than 15 days (45 days for Christmas Holidays and New Years Holidays - 30 days for all other holidays) prior to arrival date will result in a loss of 5% of the rental amount (10% for Holidays). Inclement weather does NOT void this cancellation policy.
All bookings are subject to a non-refundable $40 booking fee .

Damages: Any damages to the property, or "extraordinary" cleaning fees will be charged to your credit card as additional rental fees.

Smoking: All of our properties are NON-SMOKING homes. You may smoke outside. Smoking inside home will result in a $250.00 fine plus any additional cleaning or repair costs.

Minimum Stay Requirements:Some of our properties have expanded minimum stay requirements during weekends and holiday periods. In some instances we may be able to reduce minimum stay requirements by adding a surcharge (to be determined at the time of booking). These charges will be included in the total rent.

We reserve the right to cancel reservations for any reason within the first 48 hours of booking or at any time prior to arrival in the event a property becomes unavailable for any reason.

Additional terms and conditions are listed in our email confirmation and check-in agreement. If you wish to review these before booking they are available upon request.

Holiday rate periods change yearly - check with us.

*NOTE:  ONLY with prior arrangements made through our office, and a credit card on file, we will accept cash payments upon arrival during normal office hours. If you do not arrive prior to closing time your credit card on file will be charged unless prior express arrangements have been made.
We may at our sole discretion accept cash payments after normal office hours in which case there will be an additional fee of $50 for the first 1/2 hour after our normal office hours and $25 for each additional 1/2 hour based on the time the transaction is completed. If in our sole discretion we determine it is not feasible to make special arrangements to receive cash after normal business hours and we cannot for any reason charge the balance to your credit card on file you may pick up the keys when the office reopens but you shall remain responsible for all amounts due for the rental. Please note there is a $15.00 charge for changes to your form of payment after charges have already been processed.
