Plan a Visit to Big Bear Alpine Zoo

Kids of all ages will enjoy this family-friendly educational activity. Discover Big Bear’s VIP residents, and learn how this amazing rehabilitation facility is sustaining wildlife from the San Bernardino Mountains.

One of only two alpine zoos in the United States, Big Bear Alpine Zoo is the “go-to” facility for injured and imprinted animals, offering wildlife a safe place temporarily while they heal, or permanently if they are unable to survive in the wild on their own.

Some VIP residents you may see from their collection of 127 animals include bears, bobcats, coyotes, cougars, foxes, racoons and wolves. Birds of prey include eagles, hawks, falcons, and owls.
