Garstin Island in Big Bear Lake
Garstin Island, also known as China Island, is a captivating and unique privately owned property. There you will find Herbert Garstin’s remarkable Oriental-style domicile which was built atop the towering boulders in 1911. The Bear Valley Mutual Water Company – of which he was president – finished constructing the current dam there in 1912.
