Big Bear Getaway Rental Policies
You MUST be over 21 years of age (unless a higher age is noted for a specific property) to rent from Big Bear Getaway.
You will check in at Big Bear Getaway, 816 W. Big Bear Blvd. Big Bear City, CA 92314 to pick up your keys and complete your paperwork. Directions from our office to your getaway will be provided at that time. (All details of the check-in process and our policies are provided via email confirmation when you make your reservation). Check In time is 3:00 P.M. and Check Out is 11:00 A.M – unless your stay is during the Christmas/New Year's Holiday Period, then your Check In is at 4:00 P.M. and Check Out is 10:00 A.M.
We may be able to offer as a courtesy an early 1:00 p.m. check-in or a late 1:00 p.m. check-out at no extra charge, but you must contact us no earlier than a day prior to your check-in and check-out dates to make your request so that we may accommodate if possible. Please note that early check-in or late check-out requests are honored at our discretion, they must be authorized by us, and during Holiday periods may be limited. Call us if you have questions.
If you should wish to confirm an even earlier check-in time or later check-out time in advance - there is an additional charge, depending on cabin size and availability. Please be advised that you will be charged if you do not check-out by your designated check-out time.
We are open 7 days a week. Our normal office hours are: Fridays from 9AM to 9PM - Saturday & Sunday from 9AM to 6PM - Monday thru Thursday from 9AM until 7PM.
We reserve the right to change office hours without notice. You may check in after our office hours by contacting us at 909-585-1547 to make specific arrangements. There will be an additional fee of $20 for after hours check-ins that take place before midnight and an additional fee of $30 for after hours check-ins that take place after midnight.
We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. A down payment is required to book and hold your reservation. For bookings made in advance, we require a down payment equal to the half the rental rate in order to confirm your reservation.
Full payment (or the balance due) will be charged to the credit card on file 15 days prior to arrival.
Money orders or checks may be accepted if arrangements are made directly with our office, and payments are received in advance of due dates as outlined above. Please call or email our office to make those arrangements.
You will check in and pick up keys at BIG BEAR GETAWAY located at 816 W. Big Bear Blvd. Big Bear City, CA., 92314.
Check-in and key pick up must be by the person named on the reservation and they must present the credit card used to pay for the reservation, along with matching Photo I.D. Please contact us if you have questions.(Specific arrangements need to be made in advance with our office and a $15 fee will apply if we are able to authorize and do arrange for another party other than the cardholder/reservation holder to check in and pick-up keys).
Please note the person whose name is on the reservation must be over 21 years of age (except for higher ages on specific properties), must present the credit card used to pay for the reservation and be the person that must pick up the keys, with appropriate photo I.D. At check-in you will be provided a map to the cabin.
Important Information: AFTER HOURS CHECK-IN. If you will be arriving after our office hours listed above, please let us know in advance if you are able. You may check in after our office hours by contacting us at 909-585-1547 to make specific arrangements. There will be an additional fee of $20 for after hours check-ins that take place before midnight and an additional fee of $30 for after hours check-ins that take place after midnight. When making arrangements for After Hours check-in, they will be specifically scheduled and will take place at our office.
Maximum Occupancy/Maximum Vehicles
Each property has a maximum number of people and vehicles allowed. Exceeding this number is considered a violation of city code and subject to a fine, towing and/or eviction. The vehicles allowed must each display parking passes that have been provided by Big Bear Getaway at check-in and displayed on their dashboard.
Please be advised that any additional parking arrangements will be at the guest's responsibility as Big Bear Getaway does not provide for overflow parking, and parking on the neighborhood streets is a violation of the city code specific to Private Home Rentals.
Policy: Cancellation or date changes made less than 15 days prior to arrival will result in a loss of all payments made or due to be made. If we are unable to re-rent the property after your cancellation, you will be entitled to a refund of only the cleaning fee. However, if we are able to re-rent the property after your cancellation for any portion of your cancelled stay dates, you will be entitled to a refund of your cleaning fee and the portion of the rental amount we are able to recover with the re-renting of the property for the same dates.
Fees: Cancellation or date changes made prior to 15 days will result in the loss of the booking fee and 5% of the rental amount (10% of the rental amount for holiday bookings).
We reserve the right to cancel reservations for any reason within the first 48 hours of booking or at any time prior to arrival in the event a property becomes unavailable for any reason.
For our properties that allow pets, we charge an additional $50 nonrefundable cleaning fee. Pets are not to be left unattended in or on the property during your stay. Please be aware that even if the property you select allows pets, any and all pets must be confirmed with us prior to your arrival. Pet policies vary by property, and not all breeds, sizes, ages or numbers of pets are allowed. Violation of any no-pet policy will result in a $250.00 fine, plus any charges for additional cleaning. Please call or email our office for specific details as they relate to your pet and the property you are considering.
ALL Big Bear Getaway properties are NON-SMOKING properties and there is a $250 fine for violation, plus any additional cleaning charges or repairs required to return the property to its original condition at check-in. You may smoke outside - please properly dispose of butts or any other smoking materials; there is a $50 fine for smoking materials found on the grounds after your stay. If you find them on the premises upon your arrival, let our office know.
Excessive Cleaning and/or repairs required following your stay:
Any repairs not considered normal wear and tear that are required to the property as a result of your stay , or "extraordinary" cleaning fees will be charged to your credit card (such as dishes not being washed, food left in fridge that needs to be disposed of, garbage, pet waste or any other cleaning required that is beyond normal and reasonable in order to return the property to its original condition at check-in).
Please be aware that altering wiring or rewiring electronic devices or moving furniture and/or game tables is not permitted and carries a $250.00 fine plus the cost of any repairs required as a result.
Please be aware that Guests have trash removal responsibility. There is a map provided with your check-in information showing the locations of the two public trash disposal sites. A $25 per bag fine will be charged for trash left behind.
Please wash your dishes before checking out. A minimum $25 fee will be charged for unwashed dishes. You may load the dishwasher and start it prior to your departure or leave clean dishes drying on the counter. Our cleaning crew will put away any clean dishes.
Big Bear Lake has a quiet time ordinance which is from 10:30 pm to 7:00 am. Please do not play music or talk loudly if you are outside after this time. Doing so is a violation of the city ordinance, and may result in nuisance fines or eviction.
During your stay:
For urgent matters or emergencies after office hours while you are our guest, you will be provided with a contact telephone number to reach us when you check-in.

Our goal at Big Bear Getaway is to make your stay with us as worry free and as pleasant as possible. All of our properties are checked and re-checked between each guest visit in order to meet this criteria. If you should have any concerns or questions, we are available to respond 7 days a week during our office hours at 909-585-1547, and should an emergency arise outside of our office hours while you are our guest, you will be provided with an emergency contact number at check-in. We appreciate your feedback at all times regarding our service and properties. With that in mind, it is important that we outline our policies to ensure your stay meets these expectations.
